Description
The Valve Covers – Pair – 1969 Mopar Big Block are OE-style steel valve covers engineered for 1969 Dodge and Plymouth B-Body and select A-Body models equipped with 383 HP, 440 HP (Magnum), and 440+6 engines. Manufactured on all-new AMD tooling, these covers replicate original factory dimensions, contours, and detailing used on Mopar high-performance big block applications.
Stamped from heavy-gauge automotive steel, each valve cover features correct perimeter shaping and bolt alignment for proper sealing and fitment. Original-style wire tabs and hold-down brackets are included where applicable to maintain factory spark plug wire routing and authentic underhood appearance. These details are critical for restorations where engine bay accuracy matters.
This pair includes:
335-1068-BL – LH Valve Cover – 1968–1969 Mopar Big Block
335-1069-BR – RH Valve Cover – 1969 Mopar Big Block
Correct breather and tube opening dimensions:
RH Breather Hole: 0.95" (24mm) ID
LH Breather Tube Opening: 1.4" (35.57mm) ID; 1.49" (37.88mm) tall
These valve covers are correct for 1969 Mopar 383 and 440 high-performance engines, including 440 Six Pack (440+6) configurations. AMD also offers OE-style cork valve cover gaskets, correct oil breather caps, and factory-style hardware sets to complete your restoration.
383 HP (High Performance / Magnum): Produced from 1968–1970 and rated at 335 horsepower. Known as a high-revving big block option offering strong street performance in Road Runner, Super Bee, Dart GTS, and related models.
440 HP (High Performance / Magnum): Part of Chrysler’s RB (Raised Block) engine family, typically equipped with a 4-barrel carburetor, upgraded cylinder heads, and performance camshaft. Rated at approximately 375 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque.
440+6 (Six Pack): Featured three 2-barrel carburetors for increased airflow and performance, used in select 1969 high-performance applications.
“HP” Marking: Factory high-performance engines were often stamped “HP” on a pad near the distributor on the engine block, identifying them as special high-performance units.
These valve covers restore the proper 1969 Mopar big block appearance for factory-correct engine bays and performance restorations.
